I am so excited to share all I have learned on my personal journey to wellness. I invite you to join me as I educate and inspire you. I want you to discover how good overall health and wellness feels. You have within you the power to restore your health and vitality and be able to maintain it for a lifetime. If I can do it, I know you can too.

Non-Scale Victories

If you are thinking about it or are already on your journey to wellness using intermittent fasting, take a moment to learn about NSV’s. The main tool used to measure your success with weight loss is typically the scale. Most of time it is all well and good until that one day you expect the scale to say one thing and it says another. Some of us, myself included used to rely a bit too heavily (no pun intended) on the scale to judge my success. A non-scale victory is something you notice that has changed or improved that is not based on the number on the scale, but it also shows the progress and success you are making during your journey to improved health.

No matter who you are or where you are in your journey, moving your body will benefit you in multiple ways. Physical activity can boost energy, improve your sleep quality, and support your overall health and body weight.

Eat The Rainbow

Try adding colorful fruits and vegetable to your plate each meal. By adding these in first, as you fill your plate, you can crowd out the less nutritional foods and improve you overall diet. When I use the word “diet” it is in the context of what foods you eat during the day not a specific food plan like most people use it.
As you scroll through social media you frequently see the appetizing plates full of color. Colorful plates of food make people more interested, excited and possibly even hungry. The best part of eating all these colorful food is that they are good for your overall health too. When produce is colorful it indicates the nutrient density of the food.

What is Insulin Resistance

Many people choose an Intermittent Fasting lifestyle for the weight loss but then stay for the many health benefits. Lowering your insulin resistance is just one of these. This post will be the first of many to highlight the many health benefits that will make you glad you found this way of life.
